Hi, I’m Rae. I’m an aspiring science and nature writer living in the Bay Area of California.
On the day-to-day, I can be found working as mix engineer at the radio show This American Life. My favorite stories to work on are always the science-y ones! This one about black widow spiders is a favorite.
As a freelancer, I can most recently be heard on Radiolab’s growth episode exploring stem cells and body regeneration. (I pitched the story, co-interviewed a scientist, and provided some recording engineering.)
I can often be found in the Sierra mountains wondering: What would Owens Valley look like if Los Angeles hadn’t stolen all of the water like a bunch of conniving snakes in the early 1900s? Should I be concerned by the lack of bugs on this trail? Does that sad patch of ice over there technically qualify as a glacier?
